The Peron Development team converted the former Art Deco Bethlehem Armory into 70 residential units and light commercial office space. The 33,000 SF Armory building sits on two acres in west Bethlehem’s Mount Airy neighborhood. The project added 79,000 SF for new apartments. Some apartments were created within the existing structure, taking advantage of existing architecture and allowing for unique spaces. The remainder of the Armory existing facility, 10,000 SF, will be renovated at a future date for mixed-use commercial tech space once a tenant has been identified.

On the National Register of Historic Places, the Floyd Simons Armory was built in 1930 and named after the first Bethlehem soldier to die in World War I. It stored military gear and served as a military training facility for the Pennsylvania National Guard. This development project will maintain the Armory’s historic preservation.
